Hatha yoga unites the mind, body and spirit through concentration and focus on the breath, while engaging the body.   Yoga is the scientific art of remembering our true nature by connecting to that stillness within ourselves.  We all have that stillness within us, it is just a matter of tapping into that place and allowing ourselves to be there.  Yoga and meditation provide an opening.

By always renewing our resolution to awaken to something greater, we will ever continue to open and expand our hearts.

The Anusara style of teaching is heart-oriented yet grounded in principles of physical alignment.  It is a uniquely integrated style of hatha yoga in which a theme for a class is magically blended with  clear and safe alignment principles for each of the poses.  The asanas (poses) should always be balanced with steadiness and comfort, effort and effortlessness, and, stability and freedom.

In addition to the benefit of allowing oneself to connect to a deeper place, yoga provides the student with many additional benefits.

  • Improve posture.                         

  • Relieve muscular tension.

  • Improve flexibility.                       

  • Strengthen bones and muscles.

  • Improve circulation. 

  • Reduce stress.

Look after the root of the tree and the fragrant flowers and luscious fruits will grow by themselves.  Look after the health of the body, and the fragrance of the mind and the richness of the spirit will flow.
